I’m a Scottish artist, living and working in Glasgow. Having studied architecture at university, I developed a love for architectural drawing and the ability it has to represent the world in a way that gives us a different perspective and new understanding of our surroundings.

I’m fascinated by buildings and how they are formed by, and themselves form, place and identity. I am particularly drawn to how buildings change over their lifespan and how time leaves its mark on them, either through use or neglect. As such, each building is carefully drawn in detail ‘as found’, showing every mark and blemish, recording a moment in the building’s life, from which it will continue to change and devolve.

Each drawing starts from an investigation of the building in question, photographing it from many angles and taking key dimensions. From there, a measured drawing is produced by hand using technical architectural drawing techniques on a drawing board. This is then meticulously rendered in pencil to give the finished detailed artwork.
